Defending the departed

Loyalty is not a factor as much as comfort is for coaches in college and the NFL, says The State columnist Ron Morris.
Morris defends coaches like new Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino for switching jobs without much hesitation or notice to their current employers in his Sunday column titled, “A Bigger Deal.” Morris wrote his commentary [...]

Arkansas wins national title … in beauty

We told you last week about the University of Arkansas cheerleader competing in the finals of CBSSports.com’s College Cheerleader of the Year playoffs.
Well, despite some mouse-clicking cheaters who forced the competition to be rebooted, Rogers native Laura Cole still came through as a No. 1 seed to defeat No. 7 Houston on Thursday in the [...]

‘McFadden’ to run at Oaklawn

Some call him “Run DMC” after the late 1980s hip hop group composed of DJ Run, Jam Master Jay and D.M.C. Now, former Arkansas running back Darren McFadden, a two-time Heisman trophy runner-up and two-time winner of the Doak Walker Award, has another name to deal with — his own.

A word from Michigan

Experience shows that it takes a lot for a reader to sit down at a keyboard and take the time to draft a letter to the editor of his local newspaper. For someone to write to a newspaper that’s not his local paper is quite unusual. But in Monday’s Northwest Arkansas Times, an Ann Arbor, [...]

Sean Penix?
