Thomas suspended for violation of team rules

Arkansas senior forward Charles Thomas was suspended for Wednesday night's 7:05 p.m. game at Bud Walton Arena versus Mississippi State for what UA coach John Pelphrey called a "violation of team rules."
"I'm very disappointed in Charles," Pelphrey said during a press conference at Walton Arena Monday. "He's definitely suspended for one game and it has the potential to be more than one."
Pelphrey said he laid out certain criteria to Thomas that must be met before the senior's suspension will be lifted.
Pelphrey refused to elaborate on the reason for Thomas' suspension Monday.
"I'd rather talk about the players who are here and doing the right thing," Pelphrey said.
Pelphrey said Thomas must meet the criteria or his suspension will continue through Arkansas' Saturday tilt at home versus Florida. Pelphrey also would not disclose the nature of that criteria.

  1. I love this Pelphrey guy. I cannot wait until he gets his own highly touted recruits to play his kind of ball. Regardless, sooner or later, the players are going to get it. There is no "I" in team.

  2. [...] Love: Charles Thomas was suspended indefinitely today. Pelphrey isn’t saying why, but, according to Chris Bahn’s article on [...]

  3. Finally, a coach with some backbone AND some class in handling it. The matter of the su spension is none of the media's business and Pel did a great job of keeping it that way.

As far as Calipari's refusal to play a home and home with the hogs...if I was Pel, there is no way I would agree to Calipari's terms. He is an arrogant, egotistical jerk who has been made by ESPN. The only good thing I can say about him is that he is right on target about the UofA's reason for playing in Memphis...recruiting and he's really being hypocritical about it since he doesn't recruit Memphis himself.
