Mallett leaves Michigan, considering Arkansas
Michigan quarterback Ryan Mallett has left the Wolverines football program, and as many people have speculated Arkansas is one of his possible destinations. The Associated Press has the story on Mallett’s present situation and what may lie ahead for the former Lincoln resident:
“He’s on his way home,” Jim Mallett told The Associated Press on Wednesday. “We don’t know where he’s going to go yet, but we need to do something quick. We’re going to visit three, four or five schools.”
The former Texas Class 4A offensive player of the year may end up at Tennessee, which is considering hiring former Michigan offensive coordinator Mike DeBord and quarterbacks coach Scott Loeffler.
“If they’re hired, that would be a real good possibility,” Jim Mallett said. “Ryan really clicked with both coach DeBord and coach Loeffler during the last couple months of the season and during bowl practices, I’ve never seen Ryan throw the ball or read defenses as well as he did.”
Mallett said his son also will consider transferring to Texas A&M, Arkansas and UCLA among other schools. After sitting out next season, he will have three years of eligibility.

He grew up a Hog fan, so our chances are good. Tenn has the inside track if they hire his old OC and QB coach from Mich. Hopefully, he’ll consider what Petrino did with Brohm and want to play for him. He has to decide this weekend because classes start on Monday.

And DMac is doing everything in the world to ruin his high draft chances. Glad that he is leaving before he makes the Razorbacks look even worse than they already do.
DMAC and Felix, I hate to say it but run as fast as you can and get out of there! I would love to see you stay as I’m a die hard Hog fan, however, based upon the last few years of living a constant “Peyton Place” and putting up with all of the looney fananatics that have done everything to dis the program in the past 3 years or so, I say go out, make some money and enjoy your life!

Just heard a rumor in town today that Ryan Mallet is registering at the university of arkansas today to play football for the razorbacks. Also that Dennis Johnson from Texarkana has committed to play for the hogs also. Petrino was seen in texarkana today with some assistant coaches and the above information comes from a reliable source. Go hogs!!!!!!!!!!!
