Campbell on his way to Miss. St.
Many people in the Arkansas community were taken aback when it was announced that Louis Campbell would be joining Houston Nutt’s staff at Ole Miss. Well, now he is not going to Oxford.
Instead, he’s moving to Starkville, where he will team up again with Mississippi State head coach Sylvester Croom. Campbell, whose position with the Bulldogs has yet to be defined, had served as Arkansas’ interim defensive coordinator in its 38-7 loss to Missouri on Tuesday at the Cotton Bowl. He had previously worked in an administrative role this season before Nutt resigned as Arkansas’ coach. Here’s more from the Clarion-Ledger of Jackson, Miss.:

Louis Campbell, a 34-year college football veteran, was announced as part of the Ole Miss coaching staff on Dec. 21 and would have likely coached in the secondary.
But after Mississippi State defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson left for Arkansas earlier this week, it opened a position on the Bulldogs’ staff. Campbell and Croom coached together in the 1980s at Alabama and later with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Nutt confirmed Johnson’s decision on Wednesday afternooon.

Louis Campbell is a class act. Go Bulldogs, beat Ole Miss.
He may be a class act but his defense in the Cotton Bowl was terrible.
I wish Louis Campbell good luck at Mississippi State (except against the HOGS, of course!).
It’ll be nice to have someone else who can share in the pleasure of wuppin’ the Nutt guy at ‘OL Miss.
Go Coach Petrino! GO HOGS!
In one of the quotes I read, Louis Campbell alluded to him running Reggie’s defense. I don’t think Campbell was given complete reign. It sounded like and looked like on the field that he was just following Reggie’s lead on this one.
I can’t completely sell out to that. But, some little comments leading up to Cotton Bowl lead me to believe that Campbell was just doing what Reggie wanted him to. Even in one of the timeouts, Reggie was chalkboardin’ on the sidelines with the defense. I found that interesting. So, Louis may not have been given full reign.
Although Lloyd Carr won’t confirm, but it is rumored that Ryan Mallett is transferring. If so, does anyone know what the possible schools are?
lets hope hecomes to arkansas because casey dick is horrible
