Just when you thought we had hit Pax Razorbacka, another controversy has popped up and jostled the fan base.
KARK-TV in Little Rock reported that Arkansas star running back Darren McFadden was at a car dealership when sports agent Mike Conley purchased a Cadillac Escalade. The car was reported to have been put in the name of McFadden’s mother, Mini Muhammed.
She denies it and so does Conley, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette:
“Mike Conley hasn’t bought nothing, and it ain’t in my name,” Muhammad said. “It’s his stepmom’s, Ella McFadden’s. Really, the truck is on loan. Darren drove that down [to Dallas ] to see how he’d like it, and maybe he’d get one later.
“ They got that all wrong. Darren doesn’t have no truck.” Conley, a former track and field All-American at Arkansas, told KARK on Thursday night that he was not at a car dealership with McFadden and that he hadn’t negotiated a deal.
“That is 100 percent a lie,” Conley told the station. “I would challenge anybody to say that I have ever been at a dealership with Darren McFadden.” Though it is considered a foregone conclusion that McFadden will enter the NFL Draft as an underclassman this winter, he has yet to acknowledge that move.

I can only hope this is not true, but it certainly doesn’t sound good. What a huge disappointment and let-down this would be to the thousands of fans who have paid outrageous ticket prices just so they could come to the Cotton Bowl and watch him play his final game as a Razorback. Surely he and his inner circle would have not been this foolish, selfish, and reckless.
Someone needs to learn them some correct grammar.
Well with all due respect, i hope McFadden does go to the NFL so he will get an education. We all know that he hasn’t gotten one at the U of A.
Actually, those quotes are not from McFadden. They are Conley and Muhammad, his mom.
The poor grammar is not from Mike Conley…It is from Darren’s gold digging Mammy. I’m surprised
it has taken this long for something like this to happen.
Good grief. The internet has basically turned into an electronic bathroom wall where anyone can say anything about anyone. You would think something like this would be confirmed before printed and leaked all over. I’d more likely believe some other agenda than Mike Conley doing something like this. A loaner for a soon to be millionaire makes sense, just not sure if that’s playing by NCAA rules or not. Guilty until proven innocent nowadays.
very diappointing, if it’s true. I would hope that Darren would not be that careless, NOR Conley… He’s been around college athletics enough to not want to personally jeopardize a player like Darren’s last game as a Hog. He, as a former Hog, should appreciate this. I want to chalk this up to bad rumor mill crap that seems to be incessant in U of A athletics.
I hope and expect that there is no truth to the (now rumor) concerning McFaddens’ automobile matter.
If it turns out that the article about McFaddens’ purported rules infraction, concerning the purchase of a car, is not substantiated, Rainer Sabin (the author) and the KARK sports department head who allowed this article to be reported, should be summarily fired or KARK sued for their false allegatiion, based on negligence and defamation of character.
Again, if proven wrong, this sort of senseless pursuit of a story or slander of a person and hiding behind a paper or tv station, while trying to make a profit, should be stopped. Then, these people (KARK) are dangerous and may turn their sights on almost anyone for any reason. They would be very dangerous.
