Butch to Arkansas embers still burning?
Apparently, rumors continue to swirl in the Research Triangle that Arkansas is courting Butch Davis to be its next head football coach. The Raleigh News and Observer reported on its in-house blog Monday that Davis responded to questions about whether the back-fence talk has caused any distractions. Here is what he said:
"Not at all; I don't think so at all."
And there you have it.

The best coach for the job is: Jimmy Johnson! Jimmy Johnson! Jimmy Johnson! Jimmy Johnson! Jimmy Johnson! Jimmy Johnson! Jimmy Johnson!
[...] Slophouse blog reports today that the Butch Davis-to-Arkansas rumors are still floating around in North Carolina, at least to the point where he’s still being asked to comment about them. With his string of [...]
I'll take Jimmy Johnson but BUTCH
NO WAY..
GO HOGS
with the majority, here. if we are going to get a new coach, let's throw down some serious money and get one of the best. JJ would figure this SEC situation out in a hurry.. and mix it up with some real balance on offense in the process.
ps. with tremendous facilities and rabid fan support, the UA could land many up and coming or big name coaches, if the price was right. connecting the dots: new AD was over wannstedt at pitt, who coached under johnson in miami. come back to hogland, jimmie.
Jimmy Johnson would be nice, but I don't think that will happen. If we can't get Jimmy, we should go after a coach who has had success at a smaller school and needs his first big break. There are plenty of smaller schools that have good teams every once in a while, like South Florida, but lack the ability to recruit and compete consistently with big schools like Arkansas, Florida, Alabama, ect. If we could get a coach from a smaller school, that has developed a good balanced offense, we could have a pretty good football team.
The key for the new coach will be their ability to recruit. Especially to be able to keep the top in-state prospects at home will be the key to success. You can be a great coach on offense, but if you don't have PLAYERS AND PLAY MAKERS,success won't come in the SEC.
Dear Frank Broyles
You have been a great coach and a great AD. Thank you for all that you have done and will do for the razorback nation. I pray that you will assemble one last team before you retire completely. You have players that played for you on the national championship team that need to be called home to turn this program around. CALL THEM HOME! They love their razorbacks! It is time to assemble your final team. You know them even better than any of us fans. Use your clout and BRING THEM HOME. We want to see a team of coaches that can whip the south end of a north bound donkey on Saturday. This would once again show us that you are ready for what you gave us in 1964. Put together the team, I beg you. It is time to set the stage for a new era. All these players and coaches want is you to call them home. Make history just like you did in 1964.
