Arkansas blasts FIU 58-10

Arkansas’ last nonconference opponent didn’t give the Razorbacks much of a test. The Hogs defeated FIU 58-10 on Saturday at Reynolds Razorback Stadium. The Golden Panthers turned the ball over seven times, as Arkansas extended their losing streak to 20 games. Here are some notes:

  • Peyton Hillis won the Crip Hall Award, an honor extended to the senior player who had the most outstanding performance on Saturday. Hillis led the team in receptions with six catches for 77 yards.
  • Marcus Monk made his second appearance this season after suffering cartilage damage in his right knee during the preseason. He made two catches for 19 yards and hauled in a 13-yard touchdown reception
  • Darren McFadden rushed for a career-high four touchdowns. But he gained only 66 yards on 19 carries. Bye, bye Heisman.
  • Jerell Norton made his fifth interception Saturday. He now has five interceptions this season — the most an Arkansas player has snagged since 1998, when Zac Painter also had five.
