Steve Pederson has never worked at Arkansas. But the well-traveled athletic director, who was fired by Nebraska earlier this month, draws a lot of attention around these parts. His name first popped up on the radar when he courted Houston Nutt four years ago. At the time, the Cornhuskers were coach-shopping during Christmas after Pederson axed Frank Solich.

Now, he is being mentioned as a candidate to replace incoming Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long at Pittsburgh. If Pederson is hired, he would be pulling a Grover Cleveland. Long succeeded Pederson at Pitt.
