Broken finger sidelines Rakestraw
This summer, Arkansas forward Sonny Weems fractured his left hand while playing basketball. He has since been cleared to play and practice. That’s the good news. Now, here comes the bad: Freshman guard Nate Rakestraw broke one of the fingers on his shooting hand Tuesday.
Rakestraw, who has shed a considerable amount of weight since playing at nearby Springdale Har-Ber, was apparently diving for a loose ball. He will be out six to eight weeks.
Although Rakestraw’s role on the team was still unclear, he was expected to add some depth to a backcourt.
