For 58 minutes it was an old-fashioned defensive struggle at Reynolds Razorback Stadium. No team was willing to concede anything. Yards were hard to come by. So were points.
Then everything changed. Like a Jack-in-the-Box, the offenses for both Auburn and Arkansas popped out — making an appearance when the game was hanging in the […]

Wes Byrum could have made it a lot more difficult for Arkansas to come back in this game. But he missed a 47-yarder with under five minutes remaining in the game. Auburn still leads Arkansas 6-0. It’s still a one-possession game.
And on that note I am going down to the field.

So much for Casey Dick improving. The junior quarterback has completed only 9 of the 19 passes he has attempted for only 87 yards. The offense looks simply incapable of moving the ball. This is what happens when the Razorbacks can’t get anything going on the ground. Everything shuts down like a nuclear reactor that […]

Two of the more accurate kickers in the SEC are having less-than-spectacular nights. Arkansas’ Alex Tejada missed a 41-yard field goal earlier in the game. Now, Auburn’s Wes Byrum shanked a 36-yard attempt. It’s still 3-0 in favor of the Tigers at the end of the third quarter.

Kodi Burns entered the game and gained one yard before being horse-collared out of bounds by Freddie Fairchild at Arkansas’ 29-yard line.
The aggressive tackle drew a personal foul penalty. Moments later, Brad Lester lost the ball and Arkansas recovered it at the six-yard line. The fumble was forced by linebacker Weston Dacus and picked up […]

The Razorbacks produced only 97 yards of total offense during the first half and failed to score a single point against the 14th ranked defense in college football.
Darren McFadden’s Heisman Trophy chances are nearly kaput after gaining just 23 yards on 10 carries in two quarters of play. He really hasn’t been the same since […]

Jerell Norton almost lost the ball again on a punt. He fumbled before recovering the ball at Arkansas’ 29-yard line. Norton may have just lost his job as the Hogs’ punt returner.

Tommy Tuberville and offensive coordinator Al Borges took a big risk, going for it on fourth-and-one on the Auburn’s own 30-yard line. On a quarterback sneak, Brandon Cox picked up three yards and the first down.
The crowd, which was cheering louder than it has all game, fell silent after it realized what just happened.
