Every breath you take…
The Arkansas Times’ main blog came across an interesting ESPN.com story, chronicling a few days in the lives of Razorbacks senior linebacker Weston Dacus and his family. For two days last weekend, the author tracks their every move. Here’s an excerpt from the article:
It is just before kickoff, and Robert Dacus is puffing up like a bandy rooster, tailgating and telling stories about the times his boy laid on the floor after football games, late into the night, and watched hours of tape just to see what he did wrong.
A plane flying overhead breaks his train of thought. It’s dragging a long banner that says, “There’s Nuttin’ like being 0-2 in the SEC!” “Oh my God, that’s sick,” Robert says. “I hate to see that.” Nutt, Robert says, is part of the family. He came to Searcy once for dinner, when Weston was in high school, and grandma was a pistol that night. She asked the coach why her grandbaby, a star fullback, the second-best in the state, had to move to linebacker at Arkansas. If he played defense, grandma said, she’d never hear his name on the radio. “Miss Dacus,” Nutt said, “I promise you. You’ll hear your grandson’s name on the radio.”
Dacus has emerged as Arkansas’ most dependable linebacker, moving up through the ranks after playing sparingly as a freshman.

I wonder what Nutt told Mitch and Damians parents??????????????
Just one more thing. The boos and the plane was meant for Nutt.Every family has a rotten apple in it.Nutt is the rotten apple here. The fans are behind Dacus and every player. Its Nutt and his lying egotistical attude that we hate.I feel sorry for this team because it could have been a national champion till Nutt ran off his best coach and some of his best players.
Gamblerslob, you were probably one of the “black shirts”…and if you weren’t there, you probably wore one at home (probably XXXXLL) while listening to the game. You guys don’t get it do you? There is a right and a wrong way to go about doing something. And critisizing Nutt publicly in these ways has an obvious demoralizing effect on the ENTIRE TEAM!! How can they concentrate in an environment such as this? If you want him to go, then wait until after the season to berate him publicly and humiliate him if you have to. I’m just tired of all you HATERS…you will still hate even when he’s gone…your hate will just transfer to someone else.
I don’t even know why I read this crap…I guess the banner and idiots have finally pushed me over the edge to the dark side of life, sending a comment to a blog site. I wish I was not a Razorback fan, because I am embarrassed by how stupid most of the Razorback fans have been acting this past year. Most of you “fans” are about as loyal as a cheating wife. This is the middle of a football season and all many of you can do is try to spew hate. I’m sure these actions are helping our future recruiting classes. Do you not understand that you are booing 18-22 year old kids? The “We are not booing the players, we are booing the coach” comment doesn’t hold any water (Unless you can stop the players from hearing it). Do you boo when they break a play for a touchdown, or when they mess-up?
If I was talented enough to play at that level, I would have loved to play for the Razorbacks, but as a parent, I would hate for my child to go play there because of the sorry actions of the “fans”!
When a play goes bad, we all think that we could call better plays, but to be honest most of you complainers have only called plays for peewee teams, if that. The team had 10 wins last year and all many of you did was complain. Why don’t you just go root for LSU, since you act like their fans do.
Ross J., or Hogdog is just Danny Nutt persona. He got caught on ESPN cheating NCAA, SEC and Arkansas fans on coaching booth. Now he was trying to cheat Arkansas fans on this webblog.
Hogdog, you don’t hear us complaining, because we have a competent coach! Seriously, I know what you mean, as we had a revolving door for some pretty lousy coaches in the nineties, but the difference for us is that when someone doesn’t meet the standards, they’re gone. Nutt would not last more than two years in Baton Rouge, maybe not even a full season.
