The atmosphere in the Arkansas’ locker room after the Razorbacks’ 34-15 victory over Tennessee-Chattanooga could be best described as dour. Not too many of the players or coaches were happy with their performance tonight at War Memorial Stadium.
“It was very frustrating,” Razorbacks tailback Darren McFadden said. “You practice like you play. I’m sure that had […]

A significant portion of the crowd has already filed out of the exits. Many probably stuck around a lot longer than they expected tonight.
It’s awfully strange to see the starters in the game this late. But Arkansas’ inability to put the Mocs away early has prevented any of the reserves from seeing any action. Really, […]

Alex Tejada is a model of consistency. He just made a 32-yard field goal with 10:39 left in the game to give Arkansas a 34-15 lead over UTC. Tejada has now converted 10 of 11 field goal attempts this season.

For the final minutes of the third quarter and the first few minutes of the fourth quarter, the wireless connection in the War Memorial Stadium press box was out of commission. So I had to scramble to find a phone line to get back on the network. The rest of tonight’s posts will come via […]

Felix Jones hopped over the goal line from a yard out to boost Arkansas’ advantage to 16, 31-15, with 13:43 left in the fourth quarter. It seems the Razorbacks are finally building a cushion.
On the drive, Darren McFadden tied Jerry Eckwood’s school record of five consecutive games of at least 100 yards rushing.

Casey Dick’s pass intended for London Crawford was tipped by UTC defensive back Ronnie Jackson and intercepted by Joseph Thorton at the Mocs’ 35-yard line. Moments later, UTC running back Bryan Fitzgerald sprinted 65 yards up the gut for a touchdown. Fitzgerald juked both Jerell Norton and Kevin Woods out of their shoes before sprinting […]

On second-and-two at Arkansas’ 41-yard line, Felix Jones scooted right, burst through a small seam and raced 59 yards along the far sideline for a touchdown. The Razorbacks lead the Mocs 24-9 with 3:54 left in the third quarter.
Jones now has 120 yards on eight rushes. His yards-per-carry average seems to increase every game.

Arkansas coach Houston Nutt called a time out with 6:02 left in the third quarter to deliberate a fourth-and-one play at UTC’s 46-yard line. Moments later, Felix Jones got stuffed at the line for no gain and the Razorbacks turned the ball over on downs.
The fans let out a loud chorus of boos, reacting to […]

The Razorbacks haven’t attempted many downfield passes tonight, and the ones quarterback Casey Dick has thrown have fallen incomplete. So far, Dick’s longest completion of the game is the 24-yard touchdown pass to fullback Peyton Hillis. However, Hillis’ route was not a deep one.
After testing North Texas’ secondary last week, Arkansas looks reluctant to do […]

This may seem blasphemous. But perhaps Felix Jones should get his hands on the ball more. In the first half, he rushed four times for 44 yards, an average of 11 yards per carry.
Darren McFadden, meanwhile, gained 81 yards on 17 carries in the first two quarters, an average of 4.7 yards per rush. What […]
