Nathan Dick expected to redshirt
Arkansas quarterback Nathan Dick is expected to redshirt this season, if everything goes according to plan.
Dick didn’t play last week in Arkansas’ 66-7 victory over North Texas and has yet to take a snap during live action this year.
“We have been in this thing before,” Razorbacks coach Houston Nutt told the Northwest Arkansas Times on Tuesday. “You play a game like last week and then might not play again until the end of the year. That just isn’t worth it.”
Dick, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound freshman, is the third-string quarterback, slotted behind his brother, junior starter Casey Dick, and backup Nathan Emert.
“He’s been wanting to redshirt since we signed him,” Nutt said. “But I told him, there are no guarantees. If something was to happen to Casey, we would pull that shirt off.”
