North Texas coach Todd Dodge made a strange decision, choosing to have placekicker Thomas Moreland attempt a 38-yard field goal with 8:34 left in the second quarter. Moreland missed the kick wide right.
With his team down 31-0, why didn’t Dodge just go for the first down and try to eventually score a touchdown?

Here’s a blast from the past: Peyton Hillis playing tailback. He carried six yards and then followed that up with an eight-yard run. He’s looked goodon each attempt. McFadden is now back in after four consecutive rushes by the Conway native.

It was as good a first quarter as Arkansas could have expected. The Razorbacks led 24-0 and they actually passed the ball successfully. Arkansas produced 119 yards through the air — three more than they registered on the ground.

On a nine-yard carry, running back Darren McFadden knocked the helmet off the head of North Texas defensive back Antoine Bush with a vicious stiff-arm.
On the same run, McFadden moved into second on Arkansas’ all-time rushing list, passing Dickey Morton. It’s late in the first quarter.
