Not so fast, my friend
Arkansas running back Darren McFadden is still the frontrunner to win the Heisman Trophy, according to this straw poll. And that should keep the doomsdayers quiet for a while.
But the fact that the race for college football’s most coveted award is being covered like an election is silly. Who would have guessed that there are two Heisman Trophy straw polls? The whole thing is worthy of an entry in Sports Illustrated’s “This Week’s Sign of the Apocalypse.”
Maybe Gallup should get in on this action.
Darren McFadden is arguably the best player in college football. He should still be the front-runner. However, the Razorbacks gotta start winning for him to win the award. With two probable wins coming up this should help his campaign. The Hogs need to use these two games to improve the passing game and defense. Arkansas has potential, it’d be nice if they finally realize it.
