It was nice while it lasted
Darren McFadden is no longer the frontrunner in the “race” for the Heisman Trophy. Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is, according to the results obtained from a weekly straw poll conducted by the Rocky Mountain News and Scripps Howard News Service.

Tebow, who was responsible for 427 yards of total offense in the No. 4 Gators’ 30-24 victory over Ole Miss last Saturday, leapfrogged Arkansas’ star running back for the first time this year. McFadden leads the nation in rushing, averaging 173.0 yards per game. But the Razorbacks are 1-2 after consecutive losses to Alabama and Kentucky.

The Heisman Trophy has become more of a popoularity contest, than what it was acctually created for, It is suppose to be awarded to the best player in college football, not the best player on the best team in college football.
