You’re ranked, baby!
Basketball practice starts next month, and apparently Dick Vitale can’t wait for college coaches around the nation to roll out the balls. Vitale has already compiled a list of his preseason Top 40 teams. And Arkansas comes in at No. 21.
That seems fair, especially since the Razorbacks haven’t been ranked since the Clinton administration. Yep, it’s true. You have to go back to the week of Dec. 23, 2000 to see Arkansas listed in one of the polls.
As a result, cracking the Top 25 without playing a game would be a major accomplishment for a program still in the process of being rebuilt. We’ll see in a few weeks if that actually happens.
