Pass defense under fire
When putting together my head-to-head matchups for Razorback Game Day (appearing in the classifieds section of Saturday’s Arkansas Democrat-Gazette), I realized something that should be obvious to anyone who watched the Arkansas-Alabama game Saturday night: The Hogs’ defensive backs are horribly outmatched against the Kentucky air attack.
I haven’t seen pass defense that bad since, well, the Cincinnati-Cleveland NFL game on Sunday, if that makes any sense.
CB Jerell Norton’s “look at ‘em go” coverage against Alabama prompted coaches to move speedy safety Michael Grant to corner. Hog fans should hope Grant brings the same physical style to this game that he brought to bear on Marcus Monk in practice.
