Is Kentucky for real?
That’s the question a writer from the Tampa Tribune asked today. And it’s a legitimate one.
Kentucky, which entered the AP’s Top 25 this week, is ranked for the first time in 23 years. The Wildcats, Arkansas’ next opponent, have had their moments over the last two-plus decades. But mostly they have been cellar dwellers in the SEC Eastern Division. Even when things seem to be going well for them, they are put back in their place (See Morriss, Guy, Gatorade bath, Kentucky-LSU, Bluegrass Miracle, 2002.)
Then again, the Wildcats are undefeated and are on their way to finishing with a better record than Tennessee. Maybe this isn’t a fly-by-night team, after all.

The Wild Cats versus the Wild Hog should make for a very “interesting” day. It seems that neither side plays Defense particularly well … at least pass defense.
