And with the first pick of the 2008 NFL Draft…
Darren McFadden is on his way to becoming the most famous Arkansan not named Bill Clinton or Johnny Cash. A recent article on SI.com lists McFadden as the probable No. 1 pick of the 2008 NFL Draft.

McFadden, a junior, hasn’t declared whether he will go pro or stick around Fayetteville for his senior year. But if I were a betting man I’d put my money on McFadden delivering some punishing stiff arms on Sundays next year and his Crown Victoria rolling down the streets of a major metropolis near you.
Over the years, college coaches have compared McFadden to Gale Sayers, Earl Campbell, Walter Payton and Bo Jackson. That means they think Arkansas’ superstar tailback has the potential to be a dominant force in the NFL. Apparently, Tony Pauline agrees with that assessment. Then again, who wouldn’t?
