Scouting the Tide

The Razorbacks’ open date gives avid Hog fans the opportunity to do a little bit of scouting.

At 11:30 a.m., the Razorbacks’ next opponent Alabama plays at Vandy in the Lincoln Financial Game of the Week. In Northwest Arkansas, the game will be televised on Channel 29/40 or Cox Cable Channel 7. Those in other areas should consult their local listings.

The Hogs travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., Sept. 15 to take on the Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide in a contest that will be pivotal for both squad’s bid to win the Western Division.

ESPN2 has a SEC doubleheader beginning at 4:45 p.m. with South Carolina at Georgia, followed at approximately 8 p.m. by South Florida at Auburn.

And at 8:15 p.m. ESPN has No. 9 Virginia Tech at No. 2 LSU.

The winner can keep its eye on the national title for one more week, while the loser will have to lick its wounds.
