Muffed is the word
Michael Smith muffed a punt with 2:53 left in the third quarter at Arkansas’ 27-yard line. Special teams have been a problem area for Arkansas since the LSU game last November. Before preseason camp began, Arkansas devised a plan to stick two returners back there to handle punts. Smith and Reggie Fish were chosen.
But so far they have looked uncomfortable, showing signs of indecision when it comes to calling for a fair catch or letting the ball land on the turf and roll dead.
