When the referees threw a flag on what appeared to the final play of the game, a few gamblers across the country cringed. The officials had just called a defensive holding call on Arkansas, moments after a pass by Troy backup quarterback Tanner Jones to Fred Turner fell incomplete. The penalty moved the ball to […]

It wasn’t a perfect night for the Hogs by any means, but the Razorbacks’ 46-26 victory is a foundation they can build upon. And they do have a construction job ahead of them.
Obviously, the Hogs’ rushing game is as strong as ever with Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, Michael Smith and Peyton Hillis chewing up […]

Michael Smith is more or less an afterthought when it comes to Arkansas’ running game. When you’re behind guys like Darren McFadden and Felix Jones, it’s easy to be overlooked. Then throw in the fact he is 5-foot-7 and, well, it’s completely understandable. But Smith produced a 48-yard run and then followed it up with […]

Alex Tejada is having quite a debut. He hit his fourth field goal of the night, a 30-yarder with 9:47 left in the fourth quarter. The last time an Arkansas kicker made four field goals in a game was the 2003 Independence Bowl, when Chris Balseiro accomplished the feat.

At halftime, the latest inductees in the UA Hall of Honor were introduced and while each of them received a nice rounds of applause, fans gave the loudest and longest honor to Scott Thurman. Of course, it was Thurman’s 3-pointer that iced the Razorbacks’ 76-72 victory over Duke to capture the 1994 […]

Michael Smith muffed a punt with 2:53 left in the third quarter at Arkansas’ 27-yard line. Special teams have been a problem area for Arkansas since the LSU game last November. Before preseason camp began, Arkansas devised a plan to stick two returners back there to handle punts. Smith and Reggie Fish were chosen.
But so […]

Arkansas’ defense looks more comfortable since the third quarter began. The Hogs have been dropping eight back to choke some of the arteries that were previously open for Troy. The Trojans had 224 total yards when the half began. They have 257 with 2:53 left in the third quarter.

Darren McFadden continues to show his versatility. Out of the WildHog formation, the junior zinged a perfect strike to a wide-open Crosby Tuck for a 42-yard touchdown pass. It was McFadden’s fourth TD pass and the longest of his career. The catch was Tuck’s first career reception and his first TD catch.
