We’ve had many requests for our comic book covers featuring Arkansas’ Fantastic Four - Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, Peyton Hillis and Marcus Monk - all designed by the Times’ Mark Taliaferro. All four of these will be featured in Razorback Game Day, located inside the classifieds section of Saturday’s Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
Here they are, in all […]

I’ve never been a fan of Tennessee, but kudos to the Vols for opening the season with a tough opponent. Of all the SEC teams playing this Saturday, Tennessee is in the most danger of losing when it travels to California to meet the Golden Bears.
Cal is still steaming from that season-opening thrashing last year […]

Hole smokes, did LSU rough up Mississippi State last night. The Tigers’ defense was particularly dominant, picking off MSU six times.
DT Glenn Dorsey is a hoss and is going to cause problems for a lot of teams this year.
Here’s the most violent hit of Thursday night’s opener, a devastating block by LSU WR Brandon LaFell […]

Everyone recognizes Arkansas’ Darren McFadden as the face of the Heisman race, but such designations are fluid.
Louisville’s quarterback Brian Brohm threw for 375 yards and four touchdowns in the Cardinals’ 73-10 blowout of Murray State Thursday night.

Casey Dick made steady but slow improvement in the Razorbacks’ new passing scheme, brought in by first-year offensive coordinator David Lee. After an early practice in which Dick threw two interceptions, the junior quarterback seemed to learn the lesson that discretion is the better form of valor.
With Darren McFadden and Felix Jones in the backfield, […]

Two of the smallest Hogs could team up to make some big plays this season. Reggie Fish and Michael Smith both stand 5-7 but add them together and the Hogs 11 feet, 2 inches of punt returner because the Razorbacks plan to deploy both of them for each punt return.
I can’t remember watching a team […]

Kickoff for the Hogs’ season opener against Troy State is coming up on us fast. Las Vegas has set the line at 24 points. Is that too much or too little?
I calling the game close midway through the second quarter, but when all is said and done, I’m calling for a 44-6 victory by the […]

Arkansas star tailback Darren McFadden received another accolade Wednesday as one of the initial candidates for the Walter Camp Award, given each year to College Football’s top player. McFadden was the 2006 Heisman runner-up and Sept. 1 he begins his quest for the Heisman when the Hogs open against Troy at 6 p.m. at Razorback […]

Arkansas head football coach Houston Nutt complimented sophomore receiver London Crawford for showing maturity in practice during the last two days.
“We are missing Marcus Monk, right now, and his leadership,” Nutt said. “But London Crawford has made a move the last two days. He’s showing he wants to be a player.”
Here’s a youtube video of […]
