Fayetteville goes against type
The Bulldogs entered the state championship game throwing the ball 56 percent of the time. Fayetteville flipped the ratio in the first half Saturday, rushing 21 times and throwing 16 times.
Fayetteville used a power formation on its last three series, with middle linebacker James Bornhoft lead blocking for Cody Hammer, who rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on 12 first-half carries.
The Bulldogs lead 21-0 at the half.
