All-Stars not going to Fort Smith

BENTONVILLE - The Northwest Arkansas 16-yearold All Stars will not be going to Fort Smith after all.
The NWA All-Stars, the winners of the North Arkansas 16-year-old Senior Babe Ruth State Tournament, have dropped out of this weekend's Southwest Regional Senior Babe Ruth Tournament in Fort Smith, NWA manager Skeeter Daniels said Tuesday.
The team had 13 players participate in the state tournament in Green Forest two weeks ago and won all three of its tournament games.
However due to vacations, 7-on-7 football tournaments and other commitments only 9 players were going to be able to participate in the Southwest Regional Tournament, Daniels said.
When the number dropped below 9, the team was forced to drop out.
"I know a lot of the kids are disappointed," Daniels said.
