SOFTBALL Rogers Adult Fall Softball League Rogers Community-School Recreation Association registration for the 2008 Adult Fall Softball season will be taken through July 21 at the Rogers Activity Center. The entire entry fee will be due when the roster is turned in. There will be eight leagues offered: Wednesday Men's Open ($ 480 ), Friday Men's Open ($ 480 ), Monday Men's Industrial ($ 480 ), Thursday Men's Church ($ 380 ), Tuesday Co-Ed Open ($ 380 ), Thursday Co-Ed Open ($ 380 ), Monday Co-Ed Church ($ 380 ) and Friday Co-Ed Church ($ 380 ). A limited number of teams will be taken in each league. Early registration is suggested. Teams playing will be required to hit their own softballs. The softball must be an ASA or NSA stamped softball. Men will hit a. 40 core and women will hit a. 44 core. League games will begin the week of August 18. NWA Heat expanding for fall The NWA Heat is currently looking for competitive softball players to complete their roster. They are expanding to form a 12 U and 14 U team for the fall of 2008. All girls with birthdays in 1994, 1995, and 1996 may tryout. We are looking for players that will be committed to the team and practices. The NWA Heat is coached by a Northern California championship coach. The team has a great atmosphere and is family oriented. We play two weekends per month in September and October and then start back up in March through July. We will consider all positions. NSA Summer Classic Arkansas NSA will host its last "Open "qualifier of the year on Saturday, July 19, at Veterans Park in Rogers. The tourney is for Mens Open Class "D "and "E "Divisions. Zero homes runs; progressive penalty. Proof of NSA registration will be required. Registration will be taken at the tournament site. The tournament will be double-elimination. Entry fee is $ 165. Scheduling consideration will be given to teams that are traveling in from a great distance. Softballs must be. 44 core balls, or less, NSA-approved. BASEBALL NWA Thunder tryouts NWA Thunder, a 9- & -Under competitive baseball team, is holding tryouts Sat urday, July 26, at 9 am and Wednesday, July 30, at 6: 30 p.m. at Memorial Park in Bentonville. Coaches are looking for players who want to play baseball at a higher level. Players and parents should have a great attitude and a love for the game. Players cannot turn 10 before May 1, 2009. LACROSSE Lacrosse club practice sessions The YMCA of Northwest Arkansas Lacrosse Club is holding developmental practice sessions on Thursday nights in Bentonville. Boys practice from 5: 30-6: 45 p.m. at Old Tiger Stadium and girls practice from 6-7: 30 p.m. at Lincoln Junior High School. The sessions are designed to improve players basic stick and position skills. Interested boys and girls entering grades 5 through 12 are invited to attend at no cost or obligation. Tryouts will be held in Springdale at the Brunner and Lay fields located at 1438 North Old Missouri Road. Rogers Youth Fall Soccer League Rogers Community-School Recreation Association registration for the 2008 Youth Fall Soccer League will be taken until Aug. 9 at the Rogers Activity Center. Children ages four (4 ) through seventeen (17 ) are eligible to participate. Children must turn 4 by July 31 to participate. The registration fees are as follows: Little Kicksters (4 yr. olds ) and Under 6 ($ 40 ), Under 7 through Under 12 ($ 50 ), and Under 14 through Under 18 ($ 100 ). Each participant must have a current RAC membership ($ 20. 00 ). The membership is current for one (1 ) year from the date of purchase.

TENNIS Benefit for Babies Tournament Bethany Christian Services will host its annual Benefit for Babies Tennis Tournament at Summerhill Racquet Club in Rogers on July 18-20. This adult tournament is open to all levels in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. All proceeds will support the Northwest Arkansas office serving families in Benton, Boone, Carroll, Crawford, Madison, Sebastian and Washington Counties. NWA Junior Tennis League The Northwest Arkansas Junior Tennis League will hold competition through Aug. 27 at the Kingsdale Tennis Center in Bella Vista. Play will be Wednesday of each week with times starting at 5 p.m. Cost is $ 15 per participant, which will include awards and prizes, tennis balls and a player / parent party on Wednesday, Aug. 27. Age divisions are 8- & -Under (short court ), 10- & -Under, 12 / 14- & -Under and 16 / 18- & -Under. Beginner, intermediate and advanced levels will be offered. The camp will run from 8: 45 a.m. to 3 p.m. both Monday and Tuesday. The camp is for ages 7 and up and would especially be a great warm-up for all high school tennis players in the area. Edy's Grand Ice Cream Parent-Child Tournament Pinnacle Country Club will host its annual Edy's Grand Ice Cream Parent-Child Tournament on Aug. 8-10. The tournament is a family tournament. The fee is $ 65 per team. All participants receive T-shirts, goody bags, refreshments and a player party. The entry deadline is Aug. 5. Exxon Mobil Summer Classic Tennis Tournament The Boys & Girls Club of Benton County will host the 2008 Exxon Mobil Summer Classic Tennis Tournament at the Kingsdale Tennis Complex in Bella Vista on Aug. 1-2. Team combo doubles format consisting of men's, ladies and mixed doubles. The cost is $ 50 per player and includes beach party tickets, T-shirt, hat, goody bag, complimentary meals and snacks. VOLLEYBALL Rogers Heritage Volleyball Camp Rogers Heritage Volleyball Camp will be held July 28-30 at the Rogers High School gymnasium. Players entering grades 1-6 will attend camp from 9-11: 30 a.m. and players entering grades 7-9 will attend camp from 1-4 p.m. Cost is $ 45 (1-6 ) and $ 50 (7-9 ).
