BENTONVILLE - Ten swimmers representing Northwest Arkansas Aquatics will be competing in a wide range of events this week at the Central Section Region VII Championships.

The competition starts today in Oklahoma City.

Three swimmers will be competing in their final meet before heading off to college. Robert Murray will be attending the University of Arkansas, Ben Suchy will attend Texas A & M and Dale Bracy will be attending Denison (Ohio ) University.

Bracy and Suchy will be attending sectionals with their siblings. Erin Suchy and Clara Bracy are attending their first sectional meets with their big brothers.

"I think it's a great story having Ben and Dale compete with their sisters at their first ever sectional meet," says NWAA coach Steve Duwel. "I think the girls will benefit greatly from their brothers' experience. I am looking forward to seeing how they perform."

NWAA has two other first-time competitors in Jimmy Parker and Lauren Tininenko.

"We have lost a number of swimmers to graduation over the past couple years," Duwel says. "It is great to see some of our younger swimmers stepping up to this level. We have four firsttime sectional qualifiers attending the meet this year and that bodes well for our future."

Katie Brown is heading into her senior year at Bentonville High School and will be looking to finish the summer strong.

"Katie has been working very hard this summer," Duwel says. "I look for her to put herself into a great position this summer to get the attention of some college coaches. Katie should swim well this week, however, she is gearing her summer towards the Arkansas state meet and the zone championship meet in Indianapolis."
