Smackover holds off Pea Ridge

PINE BLUFF - Pea Ridge senior Scharla Paryzek went 2 for 3 with a two-run double but the Lady Blackhawks couldn't complete a late-game comeback in a 6-5 loss Saturday to Smackover at the Class 3 A State Softball Tournament in Pine Bluff.
Smackover scored 4 runs in the bottom of the second inning and led 5-1 after three.
Pea Ridge climbed back into the game with 2 runs in the fourth and sixth. Its season ends at 19-12.
Smackover (19-6 ) plays Elkins (26-2 ) in the semifinals Monday at 4 p.m.
