The Bella Vista Book Club

The club will meet at 1 p. m. Aug. 19 at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive in Bella Vista. “ Their Eyes Were Watching God, ” by Zora Neale Hurston, will be discussed. Bella Vista Chapter EGA

The Bella Vista Chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America will meet at 9 a. m. Thursday at Legacy Village in Bentonville. There will be a salad luncheon.

Members with last names beginning with A through L are asked to bring salads.

On July 15, the group will go to Eureka Springs for lunch at the Balcony Bar and Grill at the Basin Street Hotel, antiques at Castle Antiques at Inspiration Point and pottery at Paradise Pottery.

Members will meet at the Village Bible Evangelical Free Church at 9: 30 a. m. to car-pool.

On Aug. 10, the group will go to the Rogers Little Theater production of “ My Fair Lady. ” The cost is $ 40 per person and includes dinner and the performance.

President Marv Mickelson presided at the installation / induction meeting June 19 at the Metfield Clubhouse. He introduced guests Jane Treat, district governor; and Ralph Treat, past district governor.

Joe Kern presented awards to Kyna Frey, Lion of the Year; Mike Holiday, Melvin Jones Fellow; and Darline Shelton, Dahlstrom Award. Mickelson presented the Community Award to Patty O’Bannon.

Treat held the installation ceremony. Those inducted included Mickelson, president; Kyna Frey, first vice president; Anne Hulme, second vice president; Bette Hendrix, secretary; Mike Holiday, treasurer; Dick Willows, director, one year; Darrell Cox, director, one year; Joe Kern, director, two years; Darline Shelton, director, two years; Howard Hoogshagen, lion tamer; Carl Holm, tail twister; and Darline Shelton, membership. Ralph Treat inducted new member Anne Hulme.
