BENTON COUNTY — Voter registration deadlines are near in five upcoming elections, Benton County clerk and voter registrar Mary Lou Slinkard said in a press release.

Partisan preferential primary elections and the nonpartisan judicial general election will be held May 20, and the last day to register to vote in the elections is April 21, Slinkard said in the release.

Any qualified, registered voter is eligible to vote in one of the elections and must request either a Republican ballot, a Democrat ballot or a nonpartisan judicial ballot, she said.

Runoffs that result from the May 20 elections, if any, will be held June 10, and voters will have until May 12 to register to vote in those elections, Slinkard said.

On June 10, there will be a Siloam Springs School District special election and a Northeast Benton County Volunteer Fire Department special election, and the late date on which eligible voters may register to vote in those elections is May 12, Slinkard said in the release.

Voters must note that people not currently registered to vote who wish to cast a ballot in any of the elections must have completed and returned to the County Clerk’s Office an Arkansas Voter Registration Application on or before the last day to register, she said.

For voters who have moved and need to change their address, voter registration applications are available at the County Clerk’s Office, the press release states.
