CENTERTON - Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will break ground on a new meeting house in Centerton at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The growth of the LDS church in northwest Arkansas has been pronounced, as three new buildings will have been constructed in five years to accommodate membership, a church news releases states.

This will be the first building for the LDS church in Centerton. The building will relieve space and time constraints for the four congregations, or wards, that currently meet in the Bentonville Chapel, the release states.

The Centerton building, which should be completed in 12 to 18 months, will be 16, 558 square feet and will have a chapel, a gymnasium / activity hall, offices for bishops, classrooms and meeting rooms. The building will be at the intersection of Gamble and Seba roads.
