Benton County Farm Bureau is sponsoring a Safety Promotion Poster Contest that will run in conjunction with Arkansas Farm Bureau's Agricultural Safety Awareness Week, which started Sunday.

The theme for the poster should be related to some aspect of farm safety.

There are two categories of competition - Students in grades one through three and students in grades four through six. One winner will be selected from each grade category. Each winner will receive $ 25. The winning posters will be entered in the Arkansas Farm Bureau contest.

Winners in the Arkansas Farm Bureau state contest will be awarded $ 100 for first place, $ 75 for second and $ 50 for third place.

In order to be considered for competition, the student's name, address, grade, school, county and parents' names and telephone numbers must be written on the back of the entry. The entry must be prepared on poster board not exceeding 25 inches by 35 inches.

The entry can be three dimensional (this is to allow participants to use theme-related objects on their posters ). Adults should not do the work for the students.

Entries must be turned into the Benton County Farm Bureau office located at 1601 S. W. A St. in Bentonville by Friday.

For more information, call the local Farm Bureau office at 273-7786.
