BELLA VISTA - Casey Crittenden has received the Nebraska Turfgrass Association's Distinguished Service Award, the highest honor bestowed by the association's board of directors and its membership.

Crittenden, who has worked as the golf course maintenance manager for the Bella Vista Property Owners Association since July, spent the past 13 years as a golf course superintendent at the Beatrice Country Club in Beatrice, Neb., according to a POA news release.

The Distinguished Service Award is not presented annually. Instead, it "recognizes an individual who epitomizes the mission of the Nebraska Turfgrass Association; the betterment of turfgrass through research, education and service," said Roch Gaussoint, extension turfgrass specialist in Lincoln, Neb.

Crittenden has nearly 25 years of experience in golf course management and operation. In Bella Vista, he is responsible for 126 holes of golf and a driving range.
