‘Idol’ contestant to perform at Lighting on the Square

BENTONVILLE - After the Multicultural Festival ends today, people are asked to stick around for the Lighting of the Square, a night of holiday lights and family entertainment.
The Multicultural Festival will be 4 p.m. Square. held from noon to on the Bentonville At the Lighting of the Square, Gravette native and former "American Idol"contestant Patrick Hall will perform. Mayor Bob Mc-Caslin will turn on the voltage for the city's "gazillion mega-kilowatts of light"to kick off the holiday season in Bentonville.
The event will be held at 5: 30 tonight on the Square.
People are asked to "bring their folding chairs and bundle up tight for a fun, chilly, entertaining night ! "said Brenda Compton of Downtown Bentonville Inc. DBI is presenting the Lighting of the Square, which has kicked off the holiday season in town for more than 20 years.
Entertainment will also include local singer Catherine Bird, the Grace Point Church Praise Band and vocal group Shekinah.
