Posted on Wednesday, November 15, 2006
The Children's Christmas Train will celebrate its fourth year of fundraising for local children's charities. The fun will kick off with a Christmas Suitcase Party on Saturday and end with the Children's Christmas Train rides Dec. 2 at the Arkansas and Missouri train station on Emma Avenue in Springdale. The events will benefit the Children's Safety Center and the Beau Foundation Fund.
The Christmas Suitcase Party will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Embassy Suites in Rogers. The theme will be Christmas and travel. There will be hors d'oeuvres, entertainment, door prizes and a silent auction. Tickets are $ 30 per person in advance or $ 35 per person at the door.
On Dec. 2, the Children's Christmas Train will offer train rides with Santa to Rogers and Fayetteville for up to 1, 000 children and parents. The focus will be Santa's arrival to greet and spend time with children in each community. Tickets are $ 10 for adults and $ 5 for children. Corporate sponsorship opportunities are available.
Tickets for the Christmas Suitcase Party may be obtained by calling Liz Moore at 820-8186, Stacy Richardson at 820-7125 or Amber Montoya at 527-8494.
Tickets for the train ride will be available at the Christmas Suitcase Party or at the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad after Nov. 20.
