Meth lab suspicions lead to four arrests

BENTONVILLE — Suspicions of a clandestine meth lab led to the arrest on Friday of four Benton County residents on various drug charges and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Narcotics officers from Bentonville and Rogers police departments executed a search warrant at 804 S. E. Hummingbird Lane, Apt. 21, in Bentonville. The warrant was obtained after receiving information from the Benton County Drug Task Force that there was a methamphetamine laboratory inside the apartment.
When the Bentonville Police Department’s Special Operations/Response Team entered the apartment, officers located four adults and two children. A further search revealed a small marijuana-growing operation, methamphetamine, smoking devices, syringes and drug paraphernalia commonly used for manufacturing methamphetamine, according to a news release from the Bentonville Police Department.
Kenneth Ray Powell, 28, and Katie Fraley, 29, were both arrested for manufacturing a controlled substance (marijuana), a class Y felony; possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, class B felony; possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), class C felony; unauthorized use of other person’s property to facilitate a crime, class B felony; drug offenses relating to unlawfully maintaining premise, class D felony; and two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, class A misdemeanor.
Powell and Fraley resided at the apartment, the report states.
Christina Leonard, 30, of Rogers, was arrested for the possession of a controlled substance, class C felony.
Crystal Ann Kile, 26, of Rogers, was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, class A misdemeanor.
All four were booked at the Benton County Jail pending a probable cause hearing.
The two children were taken into protective custody and transported to the Bentonville Police Department where they were later released to an investigator from the Department of Human Services.
