BENTON COUNTY — Ana Hart, who moved from the Benton County-based Chapter 754 to a LULAC Council in Springdale, said the Springdale Council will serve as host for the LULAC state convention.

The convention will be held in March, Hart said. "The Springdale Council is going to be (serving as host for) the state convention for LULAC. ... I think it’s going to be held in the Jones Center,"she said.

Council 754 is sure to repeat its annual Heroes de Corazon program, for which it partners with Wal-Mart each year, Hart said. The program recognizes people who voluntarily work on behalf of the Hispanic community for the betterment of the community.

The annual Fall Gala will likely be repeated by Council 754 in 2006, and the district should have its own convention as well, Hart said.

The LULAC national convention will be held in Milwaukee, Wis., she said.
