Ruby Akin, 68, of Springdale died Friday. She was born June 5, 1940, in Houston to William and Fanny Pearl Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Akin; a son, James Akin; and a sister, Joyce Chapel. Survivors include children, Jimmy Akin, Lisa Fox, Brenda Akin, Patty Fausnaught and Mary Aukerbert, all of Springdale; sisters, Ann Green, Julie Green, Reb Freeman and Dee, all of Texas. Denzil Eugene "Joe"Bennett, 67, of Colcord, Okla., who died Sunday, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Butler Creek Cemetery in Sulphur Springs. He was born Feb. 2, 1941, in Jay, Okla., to Charles "Butch"and Gladys Revels Bennett. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Bennett; and a brother, Oval Bennett.
