LITTLE ROCK — Lauren Lindsey Jones and Christopher Key Hargis were united in marriage at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Monsignor Francis Malone of Christ the King Catholic Church officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Elizabeth and Greggory Jones of Little Rock. She is the granddaughter of Jane and the late Dr. Arthur Lindsey Jr. and the late Betty and Charles Maranto, all of Shreveport, and Norma and the late Charles Bishop of Maumelle.
The bridegroom is the son of Linda and David Hargis of Little Rock. He is the grandson of A. C. and the late Jane Huckelbury of Heber Springs and Noma and the late Maury Watkins and the late James Hargis, all of Warren.
The ceremony tabernacle was surrounded by two “window box” style arrangements of white hydrangea, calla lilies, Casablanca lilies, enchantment roses, variegated pittosporum, Italian ruscus, bear grass and ivy. Nuptial music was by David Austin.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a diamond white gown of French taffeta and organza, featuring a sweetheart neckline, silver thread embroidery and crystal beading, a deep-V back and a fitted bodice. The gown had a dropped waist accented by a medallion and a trumpet skirt that fell into a semi-cathedral train. She wore a double-layer veil edged with bugle beads and seed pearls. She carried a hand-tied clutch bouquet of white hydrangea, sweetheart roses, calla lilies and stephanotis.
Katherine Hope Jones of Little Rock was her sister’s maid of honor and Lauren Kidd Anderson, also of Little Rock, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kathleen Walsh and Lauren Perkins, both of Fayetteville; Helen Hamlin of Washington; Carrie Taliaferro of Fort Smith; and Pamela McCain, also of Little Rock.
They wore strapless, A-line dresses of tissue taffeta in wine with front and back dropped bodices. They carried clutch bouquets of white calla lilies tied with mini calla lily stems.
Flower girls were sister of the bride Grace Morgan Jones of Little Rock and cousin of the bride Grace Emory Crooms of Shreveport.
The bridegroom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were brother of the bridegroom Michael Hargis of Conway; Kyle Clifton of Chico, Calif.; and brother of the bridegroom Clay Chisenhall, Stephen Bracy, Phillip Tidwell and Drew Friday, all of Little Rock.
Helping to seat the guests were Alex Prince and Christopher Knight, both of Little Rock, and Jeffery Madden of Fayetteville.
A reception followed at Little Rock’s Union Station. Table centerpieces were tall glass vases filled with fresh fruit and wedding flowers and clusters of cylindrical vases with floating candles surrounded by votives. Buffet centerpieces were underlit cylindrical glass vases filled with white calla lilies, Asiatic lilies, gladiolas and corkscrew willow.
Reception music was provided by the Bluebirds of Shreveport.
The bride has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in clinical social work, both from the University of Arkansas. She is a child and adolescent therapist at Ozark Guidance in Fayetteville.
The bridegroom is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business marketing at the UA.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Fayetteville.
