WEDDINGS : MARLENA SARAH SWEENEY MICHAEL RICHARD BOND

SPRINGDALE — Marlena Sarah Sweeney and Michael Richard Bond exchanged wedding vows at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church with the Rev. John Antony officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Donna and J. Edward Sweeney of Monett, Mo. She is the granddaughter of Marty and the late Edward V. Sweeney, also of Monett, and the late Delmara and Max McKinley of Aurora, Mo.

The bridegroom is the son of Elizabeth Tallon and Lawrence Anderson of Florence, S. C., and Bettie and Richard Bond of Rogers. He is the grandson of Margaret and the late Col. William P. Tallon of Florence; Bonnie and the late Jack Jones of Sioux City, Iowa; Waneta and Palmer Anderson of Watertown, S. D.; Mary and Gordon Kerschmann of Harlingen, Texas; and Virginia and Robert Bond of Boca Raton, Fla.

Nuptial music was by pianist Carl Leta and vocalist Carli Rosencrantz.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a beaded lace mermaid gown with a bolero jacket. She carried a bouquet of white roses, pink mini calla lilies and stephanotis.

Leah Peterson of Rogers, Annetta Young of Bella Vista and brother of the bride Vince Sweeney of Fayetteville were the bride’s honor attendants. Bridesmaids were Khris Ledbetter of Centerton and Teresa Taylor-Williamson, sister of the bridegroom Michele Bond and Carli Rosencrantz, all also of Fayetteville.

Bridesmaids wore strapless, tealength dresses of satin in aqua with rhinestone belts. They carried bouquets of white roses and pink mini calla lilies.

Flower girls were Grace and Ruby Gardner of Fayetteville, Isabelle Krumwiede of Rogers and Ingrid Smith of Tuscaloosa, Ala., all nieces of the bridegroom. Ring bearers were nephews of the bridegroom Isaac Smith, also of Tuscaloosa, and Jackson Krumwiede, also of Rogers.

Paul E. Thompson Jr. of Fayetteville served as best man. Groomsmen were Stan Sherman Jr. of Dakota Dunes, S. D.; Dolf Ivener of Sioux City; Billy Burton of Boca Raton; Drew Simpson of North Little Rock; and Johnny Greco of Tempe, Ariz.

Helping to seat the guests were Bryan Burns and Timothy Jones, both of Fayetteville; brother of the bridegroom Kenneth Hoffman of Springdale; Christopher Hunt of Clearwater, Fla.; Ernesto Palacios of Miami; and Paul Schmidt Jr. of Cabot.

A reception followed at the Fayetteville Town Center. Aqua fabric was draped from the ceiling, and the room was lighted with multiple pool-colored lights. Centerpieces were various sizes of glass vases lighted from within.

Reception music was provided by a disc jockey. Diane Hodge and Brenda Packard assisted.

The bride has a bachelor’s degree in marketing management with minors in communication and Spanish and a master’s degree in communication, all from the University of Arkansas. She works in marketing at Wal-Mart in Bentonville.

The bridegroom has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion and a law degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He is a partner at Kutak Rock Law Firm LLP in Fayetteville.

After a wedding trip to the Cayman Islands, the couple will reside in Springdale.
